Umm, my new 13" MBA is 1440x900 - MUCH better than the 15" screens on PC laptops.
It is also three times the price. Probably more like twice the price of an "average" 15" PC Laptop. If the screen resolution were the only superior attribute, it would be silly to pay so much more.
Do you think that's the case? I can't tell, space-time did not mention a model or provide a link. Some laptops are crap, but on the other hand Apple laptops have sadly anemic GPU's and extremely limited configuration options compared to other models in their price range.

So the AMD Radeon HD 6750M and AMD Radeon HD 6770M (1 GB) are anemic? I must be really out of the loop...

Come on now. People keep mentioning the Air. The Air has neither.

http://www.anandtech.com/show/4897/alien...m-in-sli/4 The 6770M is likely off the bottom of the chart at about 55% the performance of the 6970M.

Yes, the discussion was about the MBA versus an unnamed model, sorry for the sidetracking. The MBA is the only Apple portable that does not have a good competitor. When it came out, all the other manufacturers were moaning that they would not be able to beat it on price for several months. My point is, comparing it to anything that is not within $50 is kind of unfair. Your new BMW 1 Series M has a nicer Nav screen than the Chevy Aveo, yes, I get it.

Let's get back to talking about products that are (ostensibly) in the same class here, i.e. MacBook Air and the new PC-market "ultrabooks":

Intel gives $100 ultrabook subsidy, delays Atom due to iPad
"Intel is giving Windows-based ultrabook makers a $100 discount to help them try to undercut Apple on price."

Imagine that...

Did I not already address this?
