Is this okay to eat?
#11
Yes, I would have agreed -- toss it. If it hadn't been sitting out, another way you could have dealt with it, would have been to microwave it-- this would likely have killed any bacteria, but not gotten rid of any toxin(s) they'd produced.

I don't eat anything that comes back from a potluck unless it never left my own cooler.

This is a classic Spearmint topic of discussion.

Still miss ya, Bob. Sad

This is what I thought of when I read Paul's reply:

"Kinda on the edge there... IMHO..
Originally, did you buy it frozen or fresh? Was it defrosted in the fridge, or at room temp? How long was it at room temp before cooking? After cooking? I'd probably go ahead and use it today... but not by tuesday."

Since it came home from a cookout, and you don't know how long it was outside and such, I think you made the most logical decision.

This.

If it had been my own chicken, I'd have eaten it. Of course, this assumes that by "last Saturday" you mean July 13.

If you meant "the Saturday before last" as in July 6, then I definitely wouldn't have eaten it. If it were my own chicken, then I would have considered eating it.
