I've never had an Apple USB/iDevice cable fail. Ever.

Not even my 2G 'Phone cable.

An old iBook charging cable when bad.

But not any of my Apple iDevice cables.

My first lightning cable (that came with my iPad Mini) failed almost immediately. No problem in two years with the replacements, though.

only cable that has failed us so far is a lightning cable, and we've only had the phones since last December. All of our 30 pin cables, back to iPhone 3gs which our son still uses, work fine.
