tell me about degreaser wipes
#1
this morning i got a flat while riding my bike. no big problem - although my hands did end up awfully greasy by the time it was fixed. (and by extension my gloves and jacket) i'm curious what the best way might be to keep my hands clean - perhaps carry an individually packaged degreaser wipe?

anyone with experience getting greasy hands clean while in the field?

You're looking at this the wrong way. Prevent the grease from getting on your hands in the first place. Get some disposable nitrile or Latex gloves. Wipe would dry eventually. A pair or two of gloves tucked in your tool box or jacket take much less space and could also come in handy when you help your friend get rid of that body.

Yes, disposable latex gloves

And if you really need them, GoJo or similar do make on the go wet wipes.

This! Make sure you get thicker ones. There are some "tough" gloves for automotive uses that work really nice.

I think these are what I use:

you want nitrile, not latex.

What Racer said. The latex will have dissolved into a pile of dust by the time you need them.

well, nitrile is also fairly chemical, and especially petroleum resistant. Most lightweight petroleum will ruin latex in seconds or minutes. Diesel turned a pair to goo in a minute while I was wearing them. Kinda felt like my skin was sloughing off.
