Great!
Now, tell your computer you're sorry, and won't do that again ;-)

Well, it happened when I was searching for the torrent for the Team Negative 1 Star Wars 35mm Restoration....which of course I still haven't found. But, yes, I won't do that again! LOL

Malwarebytes.com ...

Just to second (third?) what Paul F recommends. That single little app has rescued me and a good 15 of my friends.

Do note that the whole Malwarebytes site is slowly moving away from a simple freeware download to something a lot more complex, and designed to trap people into purchasing something, when the simple free app is all people need.

For the future, use the direct link to the free Mac app that people need to remove all this browser malware:

https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/

(which is www.malwarebytes.com followed by antimalware/mac/

ps: unfortunately, they're also using imagery that is weirdly similar to MacKeepers (the single biggest scourge in Mac applications of the past 15 years, and still tricking people). I've no idea why they'd create any similarities, but just a heads up.

Well good, glad you got that mess solved. I've had a few like that, same same, but different. I have been able to restart Safari then clear out cookies, and mess, that solves it usually. I will NEVER buy from online ads! Yes, never. Never is a good word.
