They only updated the glass cube in 2011, IIRC. Now they're renovating the rest of the store.

They're always fine tuning the layout of the Genius Bar, product display shelves, display tables, and all of that. They spent a lot of time redoing the SoHo Apple Store a few years back, closing it down for many months and temporarily decamping to a storefront on nearby Greene Street.

I haven't been to the Fifth Avenue store in ages. Too far uptown, and always way too crowded.

Speaking of Greene: Apple is rumored to be opening a second store in Brooklyn, in Fort Greene, soon.
