Agree with the others... set her up an apple ID, famlly share with yourself, set parental controls. It should be good to go. Keep in mind that she will encounter other Moms with iPads and will get lots of tech support. So it WILL go on the internet. Never assume it won't. The iPad has replaced grandma's brag book of photos in the nursing homes and assisted living homes of America. They all have wifi now.

But, I have turned WiFi off. I may even put it in airplane mode. I am 99.9% sure she will not mess with any of the settings.
I could do the family share thing though, if the iOS on that pad will support it.
It will pester her incessantly to connect to the internet, to sign in to the AppleID... etc.

^^^^^ This

I would set it up and try it this way now to find annoying apps that are making bucks ad-serving.
I tried a "free" gps app and it was obvious after just one day that its main purpose was to make money for the author.

Thanks. I will try it here at home and see how it works. I would think that if I turned off WiFi and put it in airplane mode that hopefully it would cut down on the requests, but who knows.
I have deleted all but the basic apps and the games, so hopefully that will help, but I do not want her to get pop ups or I will get calls. Smile
