How would you have expected those people to speak? Like choir boys?

Some people just don't care for shows marinated in profanity, expectations not withstanding.

And not having lived in those times, *most* people just might expect less colorful language.

It's not like school taught us that they swore like drunken sailors.

Sex and the City loses a little of it's appeal with the cleansing it's received. Even if Deadwood isn't all about the color, editing the profanity would make for distracting viewing.

There's always NetFlix, Amazon, and DDD.
