Weighted blankets?

I adore mine. I have 2 15lb ones. One is not baffled so it’s basically a bag of beads. It needs a lot of help to stay kind of distributed.

i guess i've only tried the non-baffled kind because the distribution thing really bugs me. but, when i get it right it is calming. has helped with the pandemic stress. 20lbs was too much. current one is 15lbs. (i weigh 165lbs)

There's something about the holidays and weighted blankets. I remember last year these were popular during the holidays as well, they were all over the Black Friday ads. I returned TWO for store credit. Bed Bath Beyond, and Kohl's.

The only way to get a decent blanket is to get a weighted blanket?

For the CA 'winters' I really want a warm blanket.

I've looked around, apparently not enough, and can't find a decent heavy blanket, something that will hold warmth.

I don't like comforters because they don't stay in place.

So I have three lightweight blankets layered when on or two at the most should be sufficient.

Even then they don't seem to hold heat.

Maybe a wool blanket is the way to go.

What's maintenance like for those?

What about laundering a weighted blanket?

That sounds like a bad idea.

Spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap/detergent.

There are various tips for cleaning online, but from what I've been told by those who have tried it, the odds are against having a useful blanket in the end. Heard that the "bathtub" cleaning and "out on the deck" dry has the most potential for success if you prep well.

It takes skill.

I like the opposite of a weighted blanket. I sleep best with a light weight but warm down comforter without any sort of duvet cover.
