Second attempt to recall progressive LA DA fails...
#1
...the smell test. With a seeding of almost a half million dollars (hardly a grass roots effort) they used paid signature procurers who proved to be amateurish.

Now following an established pattern, recall organizers are claiming false certifying by the County Clerk and demanding on site observers od certification procedures. Sound familiar?

A first effort to recall Gascón failed to gather enough signatures in 2021. Organizers launched their second attempt earlier this year.

Gascón was formerly the DA in San Francisco.

He and my mother were close. He spoke at her retirement. I'm sure they'll try again. Why not just pay close attention when it's election time?

C'mon peeps, get a life.... he's not THAT bad...

There's plenty of other much more worthwhile causes to put those funds and efforts towards.

It's not like they would re-purpose the money. He's made adjustments. Cut back on the catch and release.

Adjustments are good, but I just think most of these persistent recall efforts are misguided.

Not to them. People want to win regardless of whether or not they actually win. If they can't win, they they'll use whatever tools are available. If the tools aren't there, then they'll work to develop tools that will allow them to defeat their opposition.

1. Term limits
2. Open primaries
3. Jungle primaries
4. Ranked choice
4. Voter suppression

Whatever it takes for an electoral minority to compete against a majority (actually racial minorities are an exception of course) is where your problem lay. Not whether or not it's misguided, because it's not that. It's strategy.
