I keep spreadsheets for monthly income, etc, and I've simply named them for the month and year, ie. April 2025. Then I put them on the desktop under the Spreadsheets stack where I can click them open after each shift and enter my daily data. Now, apparently out of the blue and certainly not at my request, it has started adding a .numbers tag to the name. Why? I don't want that. It's annoying. Never did that before. I erase it and it comes back. Stop it, Numbers, just stop it.

Un-check.
If it's already unchecked, first check it, then uncheck it.

Because they are Apple and know better for you! They do the same annoying thing on iPhones during updates at times, always a pain to find out what app they enabled that I had turned off because I rarely use it.

I use Numbers and have not noticed this change.
