you know, I used to do this very same thing when I was a kid, but with pennies. I would make two stacks like that, but only one hump tall, and connect them like a bridge. Pretty cool and stupid at the same time.

Some friends of mine from school still do this bridge thing.

Of course, one of them is a mechanical engineer and works for the Illinois DOT - so maybe it isn't quite the same thing. They use steel and concrete, etc.

NICE! I'll be trying this out tonight with my penny stash before watching LOST. What's easier, pennies or nickels?

Those look to be quarters. It's a common denomination in the US currency system. You may have seen a few in your time.


I would say nickels are easier because they are thicker, therefore easier to handle and roughly the same diameter as a penny. On the other hand, pennies will afford you a lower center of gravity or a more stable structure.
