Dell's SP2008WFP flat panel sports a webcam
You know how we love the Dell displays around here, and it looks like the company is about to set off another round of fervent longing with the SP2008WFP, its first display with an integrated 2 megapixel webcam and microphone. The 20-inch 1680 x 1050 widescreen display rocks a 2-ms response time, a 2000:1 contrast ratio, and DVI with HDCP. No word on price, but we should be seeing this hit Dell's site sometime tomorrow.
Has someone else done this? I can't remember. Still, everyone was figuring on Apple's ACD refresh to sport internal iSights, and here they are. Sort of.

Most places I have ever worked have not allowed cameras.
The SGI's that came with Vid Cameras were opened in Shipping & Receiving and had the cameras removed and locked away.
No more Dell monitors for them. That's if they only sell models with cameras!

I am sure they will always sell models without cameras to cater to the Gov/Health sector where such devices are not allowed behind certain doors.
For the most part, these cameras are relatively stationery...sans face tracking. Many places already have a messaging system in place (MS Communicator...even Polycom for video...though cost-prohibitive for individuals setups)...and this will easily allow companies to add video to such systems that are text/audio only.
