12" or 15"?
#11
Having a 12" iBook for nearly seven years has got me accustomed to screen size but drool at larger screens. There is an unbelievable jump in price though. Of course I am an old reading impaired geezer. Will probably go for new smaller MacBook but 15 or 17" powerbook would be nice if they did not hold their value so well. Those 17" powerbooks are real entertainment. I do not think the travel difficulties of a larger screen make the smaller choice necessary unless you are a travel crazed road warrior. Having a lesser laptop with a smaller screen and a big desktop computer at home or office could be the solution then. If you just need the laptop now and then the 12" G3 laptops are great machines and finally cheap. Stingme has some good deals on these.

Wait to see what is up at Macworld in a month and a half. New stuff may open up neat new choices and reduce refurb or old model prices.

15" for me. I could never do "real" work on a 12" screen. 12" works for many people who frequently have a monitor around.

Having used my husband's 13" Macbook, I'll stick to the 15" MBP - I just can't get used to the smaller screen size, and I'm used to the size/weight for carrying it around.

Right G4's from education for about $300. Good deals but after seven years with 12" iBook I want an upgrade. Even 13.1" MacBook would be nice but can only dream of 17" because of cost. Not only big screen but great quality.

Have seen some 17" Toshibas and Sonys and they are amazing with such bright pictures.
