thats kind of my point.
My wife takes care of the baby, so her office is here. I work in the basement so my office is here too. No off site options.

You could use a safety deposit box although that would be a little time consuming to get into. You could store a backup at a friend's house. Or how about your car? Is your garage attached or detached, if detached it would be an option. Are you friends with the neighbors? Could you rent a mail box somewhere and keep the backup in there (I have no idea if that is possible). Do you attend church? Maybe you could exchange backup's with someone at church or even store it in a pastor's office if you are on good terms.

buy a small fire resistant media safe. Should survive a house fire. And make sure it's rated for media. They have extra insulation to keep the internal temperature lower than a standard fire-proof safe.
