I believe there is a ton of money to be made in iPad stands.
Any iPad First Impressions?

I have to agree with Guitarist. My Apple iPad case came today and it is definitely easier to handle the beast with case than without. Saturday was a marathon session with my iPad, and I did notice a strain in my arm towards the end of the evening.
One more observation - I don't get the whole "You can't read the screen very well in direct sunlight" comments. Who the hell reads in direct sunlight anyway? If it's warm out, I for one am going to seek a shady location to relax in. And yeah, I realize some people read at the beach. I'm just not one of those folks. If I'm going to the beach, reading is one of the last things I'm going to do there.

@ Rhonda, IMO, you definitely need some type of case for your iPad. The Apple case is working out better than I expected. A bit pricey, but worth it. It just seems safer now!
@ billb, Yes!! A camera WOULD make an excursion to the beach more enjoyable! Or more dangerous. Probably a combination of the two.

Rick-O, now that you mentioned it, Twitter happens to be where I saw this convention take root, it may have a different source. It's funny that you picked it up, thinking it's current lingo. It's actually a software instruction, originally.
If I understand correctly... When you use the "@" symbol in Twitter, it's a shortcut to route the comment you're posting as a direct reply to a specific poster. It's not just a decoration, or shorthand, it's an actual software instruction. Outside Twitter, it's inert, it's just a keyboard symbol. However, I could be wrong. I'm not an active Twitter user. For all I know, it may have entered the common language, in forums in general. Anyone else know about this? I assumed it originated at Twitter. |
