My old '83 Ranger had even a better solution, a full rubber floor.

If it got dirty you just hosed it out - no floor mats needed

I checked my mats in my Prius and they were unhooked. I have not had a problem with the mats moving, I am going to check them when getting in the car as a precaution. I think junk like hair brushes, soda cans, kids toys ending up on the driver side could cause more problems.

There must be something different with the recalled ones and the version used on our '07 Corolla, because I can't imagine how the mat could come unhooked by itself. Heck to change the carpet mats and the rubber mats out for the seasonal change I have to use both hands and fight with them to get them unhooked.

It's a freaking struggle to unlatch the driver side's mat in my S/O's 97 RAV4.

My '06 Scion xA had those and so does my sons '09 Scion xD. I haven't
checked the new Prius yet.
