I don't absolve anyone from blame. I just said there was abuse of credit, and it doesn't matter to the discussion whose fault it was, except that everyone is going to have a part in correcting things. It really is going to be interesting to see how it all ends up. To me, it looks like everything is slowly unraveling. It's scary. kj.

It does in fact matter how we got to where we are. Without an understanding of the underlying problems that led us to where we are today, we will never be able to construct solutions that might prevent a future collapse of our economy.

On the other hand you could put your faith in the tooth fairy and hope for a better future.

My bet is you'll go with the fairy.

Call FHA and ask them what lessons they learned. The only mortgage you can get with 0-5% down is an FHA loan.
