moveon at its best-- house party
#1
Sometimes I want to punch moveon.org in the throat, but the one thing they do that I think is great is the house parties.
There's one coming up next weekend-- "Inside Job" moving party.
Unfortunately it looks like there's not a whole lot of excitement about this one-- barely anyone registered to attend in most of Chicago:

Granted I am unfamiliar with these house parties, so I can't compare to others in the past. But what are the chances that the kind of folks who belong to moveon have already seen the movie and bought the t-shirt and have no desire to go to a total stranger's house to watch it again?

I think the going to a stranger's house actually is the appeal for many people-- the house parties are a great way to meet like-minded individuals in your immediate area.
Agree that the movie itself is probably the hard-sell part.
