Mmmm.... EeePC. A gal at work just got one and I had a chance to play with it. It's a nice machine! Just what I'd want when traveling.
The Linux interface is quite user friendly.

Ooo, I like that idea. I might even be able to find one of the old multi-colored ones, since the machine will be white.

I know someone who loves their EeePC - but they don't use a mac.
We have an older PB12 that I just put in a new battery, external power supply, and 250GB hard drive. Works great for all the same uses as the EeePC, and it can also run a bunch of mac software, too - like front row with 100GB of mp4 movies.
You'll have to let us know how you like it. With the PB12 machines still around and working great, I'm pretty much vaccinated against this class of machine.

I'm curious how the EeePC and its Linux distro work out for you. Please do keep us informed. It's an intriguing little product for sure, but definitely not in a niche that Apple would want to go for.
The used 12" PowerBook thought is a good one; of course, good used 12" PowerBooks still cost more than a new EeePC. I'm still using my 12" PowerBook as my main portable machine, but when I want to surf on the couch or in bed I find I'm reaching for my iPhone more often than not these days...
