You're better off with the acetaminophen than the ibuprofen due to the aspirin and Plavix. But as others have stated, water is going to work best for you. Also for the future, you likely mixed too many of different types of drinks. Pick one and stick with that. The cogoners (not sure if that's spelled right) are the additives in alcoholic beverages. That is what worsens the hangover effect.

You can take the Tylenol but not the ibuprofen.

There's a great drug interaction tool at http://www.drugstore.com/pharmacy/drugch...t=Atenolol&fromindex=true&trx=12841&trxp1=list_health

I advise my young nieces and nephews to drink plenty of water if they consume alcohol before they retire for the evening if they want to avoid hangovers.

Another vote for calling a pharmacist.

To be safe, I wouldn't take acetaminophen after drinking. Try Alka-Seltzer (aspirin, alkaline and water) or Emergen-C.

Thanks, all. It's interesting to see the recommendations to call a pharmacist. I had called the 24 hour nurse hotline number just before posting this, just to see if they had any suggestions. Their suggestion was to call a pharmacist. Smile

S/O said pharmacists has taken more chemistry than God! Her supervisor is a Pharm. D.

You need to stick with acetaminophen for this headache, since you are on the Plavix. The amount of aspirin you are on is not significant enough to interact, but the NSAIDS can potentiate the plavix blood thinning properties.

Acetaminophen unless you have a bad liver. Too many nights like last night and you WILL. Other than that, drink plenty of liquids - alcohol has dehydrating and depressant effects.

S/O said one should not take alcohol with Tylenol (Acetaminophen) because the liver has trouble filtering.

My friend, you're not a youngster any mo', stop partying like one

This is one reason I try to avoid sweet, heavily flavored drinks like Cosmos. Since they taste like soft drinks it's all too easy to forget that you're drinking alcohol, and suddenly you're blasted.
