...At my small biz. I often find trash that has either blown in or tossed out by brain dead motorists on my property. At first glance, it looked like a plastic grocery bag had blown into the ditch. I wheeled over to the shoulder, jumped out and grabbed the bag, but it was full of...something. Heavy and kind of squishy.
I expected the worst, and placed the bag in the bed of my pickup, and drove to the back of the property where the woods rolls down into a marshy swamp. Opened the double bag to find a whole mess of freshly cleaned smelt! No smell, bugs, or other nasties (thank goodness). I must have been right behind the damned litterbug. I walked over to a tree stump and dumped them out for the lucky raccoon or other creature of the forest to enjoy. I'm sure they gorged themselves.
Now I have a craving for a big mess of battered smelts!! :yum:
