Do you think we'll have another dark age(s)? Or are we past that kind of stuff?

Keep in mind that while Europe was in the 'Dark Ages' Asia was busy inventing all kinds of stuff that Europeans later adopted. They invented mathematical principals, algebra, calculus, '0', magnifying glass, telescopes, lots of metallurgy, medicine, etc. Several of the largest cities in the world were in Central and South America during this time. The 'Dark Ages' were only dark for Europeans.

While I could see civilizations collapsing, I don't think it would happen to the entire planet. Maybe the USA would dissolve, or maybe there would be a revolution in Brazil that destabilizes South America but I don't think that EVERYTHING would go with it.
