The behavior is definitely more realistic and easy to understand (what with President Taylor going off the reservation as well).
However, this is TV, and what makes Jack such a compelling character to me is that he is better than all of us. In situations where we (definitely I) would crack and go Posto, Jack stays on task and strikes a blow for justice and the American way. That's what I like about JB and that's what allows me to "overlook" his less-than-textbook methods of neutralizing the Big Bad.
I hope the writers don't just let this go. JB needs to pay for this criminal act. I can accept JB turning himself in and heading to prison, or the gun in the mouth would be a very nice touch.
Whatever, I will definitely watch how this plays out.
