I think I have said it before, when something like this fails, there was likely something else already wrong with it and the current problem finally took it down. I would guess there is an internal fuse somewhere in addition to the circuit breaker. If there is no fuse, then look for either a bulged electrolytic capacitor can or a blackened transistor in the circuit close to where the power comes in.
