[plumbing!] Thank you, Nibco
#1
The shutoff valve in the garage for the spigot on the other side of the garage wall leaks when opened up. The leak is at the stem. I've since loosened the outer nut and applied some RectorSeal to the threads. Couldn't find my white tape. Don't know yet if it'll work. Doesn't matter.

I removed the spigot's guts, because I could do so without having to shut off water to the house---both valves use the same guts and I wanted to see about replacing said guts.

I learned the spigot is a 63 or 736 Nibco, no longer made. Local supply shops don't have them. Nibco's site says parts are not available. I emailed them anyway, asking what my options are, if any. I now have 4 guts coming to me, gratis---there's another spigot and internal shutoff on the back of the house.

I know ball valves are better, but sweat soldering isn't my specialty. Hopefully I can put that off and be I'll be good for another 15 years or so.
