I'm not arguing that denying this person's claim is 'right' from a human / ethical standard. It's not. But it's probably legal.
Was anyone here suggesting that it wasn't legal? I think both the purpose of the story, and of posting it here, was to highlight the gap between was is legal and what is right. And personally, i'm okay with that.
