Finally happened: got burned by Amazon's "no post-order price match"

Maybe, but I view it as Amazon lowering their price when they can. To be perfectly honest, I love Amazon. Preprinted labels to return items and they pay for the return if it is their fault in any way. One time I screwed up returning an item by leaving something out and they paid for both labels. Interestingly, when I called Amazon about forgetting to include the item, the customer rep misunderstood me and thought that they had somehow forgotten to include the item. He immediately apologized and was in the process of sending me another item until I corrected him. So my opinion of Amazon isn't unbiased.

I'll call and ask about a lower price match from an online vendor but if they refuse, I don't get worked up about it.
