My Webmaster won $70 million in Powerball lottery
#10
I think most lotteries require that a winner be publicly named, so there's not much opportunity for winners to get away without their name being shared. Something that some people do is to create a trust that can step forward to collect the winnings. Going this route can protect a winner from detection, but keep in mind that few people stick to the exact same lifestyle after winning as they had before winning, so staying unnoticed can be a challenge for all but the most cautious.

I mean, even if you just wanted to buy a new house and quit your job, don't you think that would raise questions in the minds of those who know you best? This isn't the sort of thing that most people can keep secret.
