wasp's nest near front door - kill or leave be?

the latter part of that choice implies that they will not be a danger to us as we leave our house. it's about 6 feet from the front door, near the ceiling of the front landing.

I'm inclined to leave it and hope they do their thing and get out. but, I have children and I don't want them invading inside my house in any way.
