Yes.
I still use the original iPod touch for reading - and I am a geezer with bi-focals - no problem even for me old eyes reading on iPod touch, so I am sure reading on iPad mini will be a huge improvement for me. But, I will wait until I can play with one a while to compare it to full size iPad. My wife has iPad 2 and we love it! She has cell model and uses it for work daily doing consulting, etc. with it.
