Is anyone looking for an entry level turntable?

I have an ION that I used to digitize some older albums. It worked well, I don't think it irreparably damaged the LPs. The tonearm is heavier than audiophile tonearms, but not any heavier than older Garrard changers or record changers that GeneL posted above.

I'd like to use my Thorens TD 160, but I have some hum running though it that I can't seem to get rid of. Actually I've never had much luck in getting rid of hum from turntables. That is one reason why I opted to get the ION, I wanted a clean, hum-free transfer.

Sam, I wasn't suggesting that I'd use the VM record player that I mentioned! That's long gone…

…and so is the GF.

Thanks for posting about your experience using an Ion turntable.
