Yes the buzz is that if we get the NBA team back, odds greatly increase that an NHL team will follow.
Seattle is the second largest city (after Atlanta) not to have an NHL team, so I think we're due.

I've never been a hockey fan but had a great time at a game last month in Greenville, SC, which has a minor league team called the Warriors. They beat Toledo. Very few fans were in the arena though, and it was a Saturday night. Hopefully they'll do better but at that rate it's not promising. Don't know about this push for hockey in the southeast....
