Thanks for the point toward SIMON, I'll look into that this weekend.
As there are 3 applications running on this machine that all exchange data with each other and then pass the data to/from their home systems, I'd rather not script a daily reboot if I can find a simpler solution. We're generally talking less than once a month that this one application shuts down, and probably half of those times (once every two months) it's due to a pre-announced software update from the developer where I know I"m going to have to remote in the next morning to see if the update completed successfully.
