I got a lot of Cat Power, but no Amazing Grace. I'll have to check that out.
I love pipes and have a lot of music by various pipers. But after the first funeral, it became almost too personal to bear, and never gets any easier. It could be that combined with the Missing Man formations, the song took on far more intensity than I would ever expect.
So I like the Judy Collins and Joan Baez renditions, but seldom listen to it with pipes.
I have never heard a bad version of Amazing Grace.. even a tone-deaf mute can perform a moving version of the song.
