Did Apple Change Its Networking Protocol with Mt Lion?

Thanks AA! I saved that page in my IT folder for reference.

I had been trying to copy a folder from the G3 to my daughter's legacy iBook via the iMac, and was getting frustrated. Finally I remember to look at the G3's IP address, copy that into the server browser on the iBook, and got the two together directly.

But there are times when I need to copy something off the old blue-and-white G3, so that page will be helpful.
