What a wonderful thing she is doing!!! Please let us know how it goes on the 19th.
No personal experience, but an acquaintance recently went through the process (daughter donated to her dad.) The recovery time for both was ASTOUNDING. Both were up and walking that evening. The donor was out of the hospital within 48 hours; the recipient stayed 4 nights IIRC. Donor was able to resume driving and fairly normal activity within a couple weeks. She did not complain of any real pain, just fatigue that lasted quite a while.
Both procedures were done laproscopically so I'm sure that makes a big difference in the quick recovery time and easy pain management.
Wishing them both the best for a successful procedure and a speedy recovery!
