Cat 6 comes in both unshielded and shielded cable, so saying it is shielded is invalid as a blanket statement. For a home environment shielded is rarely necessary. If shielded is needed, the runs have to be checked as the ground line connected between pieces of equipment can create ground loops that will introduce their own interference.
