Took Out Above Ground Pool, Technique for leveling for new lawn?

My wife's brother and his wife planted a perennial garden in the space, with tall grasses, etc. She was quite proud of it. But recently they sold the house, and the new owner tore up the garden and planted grass.

I think it was pretty level to begin with, but with a garden, it doesn't have to be.
