When I first saw your post, I thought is was about the "Liberation of the Philippines Army"...
Yeah, it's been really cold here-a slight warmup right now-but I'll take this over typhoons any day. We complain about Winter but in this part of the world, but we don't have typhoons, or hurricanes, or earthquakes, mudslides, wildfires, tsunamis, poisonous snakes, fire ants, scorpions, tarantulas, etc., etc.
My dad remembered, when he was in the Philippines during WW2, the days on end of continuous rain when nothing would dry out. Even under cover, the humidity was 100% and your wet clothes stayed wet. Trench foot, or jungle rot, was prevalent and they would go barefoot and just in shorts like the natives to avoid the foot problems. That and he was orange from the malaria medications they took...
Again, hope all goes well there-they've (you) had enough to last for awhile!
