You can just use the mobile app version of 1password at work, using your smartphone.
This is my main concern also. I hope their website explains this, but if not, can you give me a quick run-down? Does it actually display the password on your iPhone and then you can type it manually onto your admin-restricted work PC?
Yes. You open the 1password app, and it will prompt you for either your master password or a low security 4 digit passcode (based on the settings you choose). Then you browse or search for your login. Click on it, and if I you didn't just enter your master password, you will now. At that point, your password will either be in plain text, or cloaked as ••••• (which you decide in the Settings menu). If it's cloaked, you click on the reveal button.
One thing that's nice is, in the revealed password, digits are in color so you don't confuse them with letters. Also, you have recipe choices for the random password generator. If you're going to be typing it in, pick a pronounceable password, so you get something like ti-heyt-yooj.
