I confess my lack of understanding how it all works, I just need something that works. Chrome has worked smoothly and quickly and is free, so I'll be taking it for a frequent spin. My main concern is with the Google/Android ecosystem putting up some success stories and beating Apple at some of it's own game.
TeamViewer is free for noncommercial use. If you're accessing a business computer you should pay them
LogMeIn does the job. It's not very expensive as business-expenses go.
Personally, I prefer making a VPN connection and using ordinary Mac screensharing.
