I also have original SR60s, a good value still. A few years ago these $70 headphones developed a problem with some wiring insulation coming out of one earpiece. I sent them to Grado and they repaired them (what? repairable tech??) for $25 including shipping.
Grado Labs earns a royalty on each MC cartridge sold today even though Grado stopped making them back in the 60s. Grado still sells phono cartridges today, from about $70-$3500. I have one of the older (late '80s/early '90s lower-end Signature models, the 8MZ. It cost $200.
