There hasn't been a coconut in a grocery store around here for decades.
I read the labels all the time avoiding corn syrup ( try buying salad dressing that doesn't have HF corn syrup in it ) and the "artificial" sweeteners. "No sugar added" almost always means they've poured on the artificial goo.
We can make from scratch an awful lot of items that would be more convenient to buy prepared if not fore the fillers, preservatives and other packaging enhancements.
I make my own grape juice and it is a bit too strong. Mixing with just plain water doesn't quite cut it palate-wise so we also have Ocean Spray white cranberry or white grape 'juice' in the fridge to blend it with.
