I haven't seen the word "hackney" in years, and didn't know it had a division!
One the one hand $100 seems pretty cheap for a "finder's fee".
On the other hand, the driver did what we (most of us) think all good people *should* do- turn it in because it's the right thing to do, and shouldn't require a reward.
Not to mention it would have been a little tough to pull off "What backpack?" scenario.
So what's the obligatory amount for tipping a Good Samaritan?
Lastly, had it been me, I would have been *wearing* that backpack even if the ride was from the Bronx to the Island.
(No, I don't know NY.)
