My wife and had an Electrolux Wavetouch dishwasher in our old apartment. Awesome dishwasher. Expensive but did a great job and was incredibly quiet. A key design is the way the mist blew out of the machine. It doesn't go up, hit the cold granite and condense and drip down the front of the machine. An expensive but excellent machine.
In our current place, we replaced a botched dishwasher with a model from Miele. Got a great deal on it. It's very quiet but not quite as quiet as the Electrolux and you hear a noticeable whoosh sound when water is leaving the machine. This could be due to the plumbing in the new apartment rather than the dishwasher. The Miele does a great job but it uses a lot of rinsing agent. It has a design that keeps water from condensing and dripping down the front of the machine.
I wouldn't buy another Miele. I'd go Bosch or Electrolux. Everyone I know who has a Bosch dishwasher is very happy with it. I loved the Electrolux but I'm not sure I could afford one. They are definitely pricey.
One thing with dishwashers is the location of the controls varies from machine series to machine series within the brand. There were some Miele models with the controls on the top of the door. Others _lots_ of them on the front of the door. Others with just a few on the front of the door. You get the idea.
