No, it won't. It's a fine toothbrush, but it physically can't get in between your teeth and below the gumline like a water pik or floss.
In answer to gabester's question: I highly recommend a ShowerBreeze flosser. Basically you hook it up behind the shower head and have at it. No bending over a sink, no water going where you don't want it., no noisy device taking up space on your vanity & using up an electical outlet. Cheaper, too. http://oralbreeze.com/
They do make one that attaches to a sink faucet if you prefer. Using this REALLY helped my gum health. This plus a Sonicare and you'll be good.
