They'll give you a shot (or two) of local anesthetic with a small needle, before going in w/ the big bore needle for the biopsy. Just don't look, and you should be fine. If you're squeamish, a tranq would probably help. Probably not worth the hassle of any sort of major sedation. Good luck.
