I think the point is if you need more power, you can use those pro to get 25% more power per charge, like when you go camping, or have a power hungry device like a digital camera.
Even at 500x, those are still way, way cheaper than regular alkaline.
Also, who really uses those 500 or 2100 cycles? at one cycle per week, that would be 10 years and 40 year respectively. Those cells will be dead long before that due to over discharging. don't let cells drop much below 0.9V, also avoid going negative... it can happen if you mix cells.
