NiMh battery electrolytes leaking in old units

Not sure how to clean NiMH electrolyte, but when I have Alkaline cells leaking in various devices, I clean with white vinegar. That may also work in those NiMH cells.

regarding usage; I believe they have high internal resistance now and cannot be charged. You are probably wasting your time. And if they do take a charge, they will probably self discharge too fast to be of any practical use to you.

regarding disposal: I know they are less harmful than NiCd, but I would still try to dispose of properly. I think there is a web site about NiMH recycling, if I find the link I will post.
